Carolyn Raphael is the poetry coordinator for the Village of Great Neck Plaza in Great Neck, New York and has run several poetry programs for Mayor Ted Rosen.

    

A popular one is "Poetry in the Plaza", which places poems on the local bulletin boards. There is a new poem each month. For details, see the village website www.greatneckplaza.net.

Another is the annual Great Neck Plaza Poetry Contest in which poets from the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island,  New Jersey, and Connecticut compete for cash prizes and a reading during poetry month in April.
